Sears Credit Card Payment – My first experience online!
Some good things in life come in small packages. Now, to me, anything which makes life lazier and a tad simpler is a great idea. Let me take the liberty in saying, everyone out there shares my view on this. Hence, when it came to my Sears Credit Card Payment, it was indeed a surprise, when I learnt about their online payment option.
Now, to me, who happens to be a person who sticks to traditional ways of doing things, such as a semi-automatic washing machine, and a Pentium III powered desktop, credit card payment had always been a ‘snail mail’ process.
I used to fill up a check for the payment amount, and drop it off at one of the banks, which carried on the process and paid my bill. Now, this was a cumbersome process, as I used to cling on to my credit card, without using it, for those days when the payment was ‘being processed’!
Now, I might be this guy with an outdated desktop. But, it is sure powered by the Internet. So, when I went around to the Sears customer centre and picked up a pamphlet which boasted about Sears Credit Card Payment being done online, it took me by surprise. Internet was sure a boon, for many reasons which are unmentionable here, but so useful? I was not a man who did radical changes. Hence, I waited, until one of my friends came about bragging about his first online payment.
Things added up now. I logged on to the Sears card website. It redirected me to a CitiFinancial site. I was alarmed. But, well, it did give me an option to register, and it said it was free. What the heck! I went ahead and registered, nervously though, clinging on to my credit card payment statement in one hand.
It requested me for a 16 digit Sears card number, my name and full billing address. Piece of cake, though I must admit, I did them with a certain air of tension. A username and password at my will, nice!
The next one was the decisive step. Making Payment. It was nothing more than a tab on my account page. As I opened it, it requested me for payment information. Yeah, this must be backed by valid checking or savings account in order to be eligible to make online payments. You will also require your bank routing number and account number.
Payment amount entered. Submitted… A confirmation page popped up after a few seconds, and I noted the confirmation number. Bang! I had just done my first successful Sears Credit Card Payment!
